The municipality of Hellendoorn is situated on the border of Twente and Salland, on the edge of the National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug. Here you will find the Visitors Centrum of State Forest, where they will give information about this area.
Beautiful cycling and walking routes are possible in this area. Hellendoorn has many tourist attractions, like the Adventurepark Hellendoon, which certainly is appropriate for the whole family. Also the five museums, which are located in Hellendoorn, are worth a visit.

Touristic Switching Points are specially equipped locations from which you can enjoy cycling and walking along marked trails. So you can easily find the road and discover the most beautiful places in the region. All touristic switching points are within easy driving distance and a few with public transport. From the road signs leading you to the Touristic Switching Points. All Touristic Switching Points have free parking. At each Touristic Switching Point is a information panel, on which walking en cycling routes are marked. So you can easily choose which route you want to walk of cycle. The hand pointer points you in de right direction. De municipality of Hellendoorn has also a Touristic Switching Point on top of the Nijverdalse Berg near to the Visitors Centrum of the National Park de Sallandse Heuvelrug.
Sheep’s
Herds of sheep are found in the peat Nijverdal-Wierden. There is a sheepfold located at Dalkruid in Nijverdal. Excursions are on request.
